From the artist's comment on a pic on dA:

I was totally disgusted with the film's rendition of 6th year Snape--or what looked like an emo kid picked straight out of MySpace. I think Sev would have been moderately attractive... but still--you know--Snapish. So I made an effort to make him...well... kissable.

(leaving aside 1. the strict canon interpretation that what you suggest is unlikely, 2. the obvious correction that that was fifth year, albeit he was nearly sixteen and a half, and 3. my peeve about using "emo" as an insult)

Whaaaaaaa you so cray-cray! (That's right, English fails me.) That "emo kid picked straight out of MySpace" is gorgeous, and visually beats what we're given for his adult self IMNSHO. If you think this isn't "kissable" then it's time to call in Dr. House because I just don't know what's wrong with your brainmeats:

I dunno about youse guys, but I can hardly look at that shot without wanting to push him up against the wall and kiss him half insensible.

	Seriously! Teen!Snape in the OOtP film is not only adorable in a quirky, geekish way but looks very much like what canon adult Snape might have looked like as a kid. Yeef! Now I'm wondering what the pic is that has this as a comment... (Reply to this) (Thread)

Not my intent to create drama here, though. I didn't say this to them and I don't want to drive annoyed/upset traffic their way.

(Although I am a little dismayed at some other pieces in their gallery, now that I look. I don't have a problem with teasing Severus per se, but there's affectionate ribbing and then there's mockery.)

	No drama from me, that takes way too much effort. :P It's a good drawing and the artist has a really nice style but nope, I still think the kid playing him in the movie is cute. Uh-oh, I know I've done worse to poor Snape than affectionate ribbing! ;) (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I suppose there's nothing very dignified about [identifying sweet and minty details for a certain Kinky Kristmas submission redacted], no. ;) But you seem to be operating from a place of love of the character in general. You give him nice things, sometimes really lovely things, as well as a hard time (pun intended). When you tease I do not get "ha ha isn't he pathetic, what a dork, grow a pair" but more "oh Severus, you kind of suck sometimes but that's half of why we love you in the first place".

	True enough, if Snape were real and belonged to me I'd feed him chocolate and give him plenty of lovin's and only very occasionally stick his hand in a bowl of warm water while he was sleeping. ;) (Reply to this) (Parent)
