A Conspiracy of Cartographers by as-yet-anonymous (in [livejournal.com profile] springtime_gen)
(Marauders and assorted others, PG-13, 6540 words)
Author's summary: A cautionary tale of four intrepid fifth-years and their quest to capture Hogwarts on parchment.

My comment: "Great story! I think you've got their characters all down well, and I like that Peter isn't just some kind of simpering idiot loser. The little contributions from an annoyed Lily Evans were good too. Oh, and the little hint about Severus twigging to something strange going on with the Shrieking Shack! Nice nod to other things there."

Sirius prowled the room from corner to corner so the parchment could record its size and shape. As he did so, various Slytherins wandered in, completely oblivious to the interloper in their midst. What would they do, he wondered, if Sirius Black were to suddenly materialise in the middle of their common room?

It was an awful idea, of course. But Sirius had always found those ideas the most tempting.
